Zibra Zibra “CD” Release Party

Source: morecowbell.net

zibrazibra777.jpg

While there are definitely no shortage of live music opportunities tomorrow (7/7/07), one of the most interesting and groundbreaking shows will be the Zibra Zibra “CD” Release Party at First Ave.

ROYALTY, ETC. RECORDS PRESENTS HAR MAR SUPERSTAR
(feat members of the Strokes) and ZibraZibra, (777 Digital Release) with Seymore Saves The World
First Avenue
Doors: 6pm
18+ / $10.00 advance / $12.00 door

The release will be digital, so audience members will be able to upload the entire album onto portable digital media storage devices for free at show via digi-merch ports at the tables and wirelessly using a high-speed wi-fi router from anywhere in the room. Also, audience members will be able to text message their email addresses to a secret email address, which will automatically respond with a private link that will allow people to download the record for free to their computers sometime within the following 48 hours.

I have a feeling that this sort of thing will be looked back as a pretty revolutionary “CD” Release show  in a few years.

Joseph Arthur - Let’s Just Be

Source: morecowbell.net

letsjustbe.jpg

April 17th, Joseph Arthur will release his new album, ‘Let’s Just Be‘. This will bes Joseph’s 6th full length and the second for his own label (the first being last years ‘Nuclear Daydream‘), Lonely Astronaut. In addition to ‘Let’s Just Be‘, he is also set to release another album later this year as well!

The first single off ‘Let’s Just Be‘ comes in the form of ‘Diamond Ring‘. A sweet little rocker which has definite hints of influence from the Stones, the Faces, and maybe even some Bowie at times. It’s a slight bit of a departure for him, but I think it works really well. I’m sure it will sound even better live with his full band, The Lonely Astronauts.

Joseph Arthur - Diamond Ring

You can pre-order ‘Let’s Just Be‘ on www.JosephArthur.com. They is also a special edition for sale, which will only be available on his site and at his shows. As an extra bonus, it features Joseph’s great original artwork as well.

I reviewed Joseph’s Fine Line show last fall, and it ended up being one of my favorite shows of the year, and I’m guessing his upcoming show on April 27th at the great Varsity Theatre will be awesome as well. No word just yet if it’s going to be the same backing band as last fall, which featured hometown boy Kraig Jarret Johnson on guitar & backing vocals.

Here are the rest of Joseph’s tour dates, don’t miss him!:
