Seymour Saves The World CD Release Party

Seymour Saves The World (featuring ex-Tapes n’ Tapes and current Cloud Cult bassist Sean Neary) celebrate the release of their second full length album ‘Right Left Upstairs Alone’ tonight at the Varsity Theater. The show is also a CD release celebration for Royalty Records labelmates Zibra Zibra and Middlepicker. Solid Gold and The Wars of 1812 round out the great local bill.

Dan Israel / Stook! CD Release Party Tomorrow

One of the best local bills all year will take place tomorrow night at the Varsity Theater in Dinkytown.

Dan Israel will be celebrating the release of his 9th album (and quite possibly his best work yet) Turning along with Molly Maher, Stook! and Martin Devaney (who heads up Dan’s label, Eclectone Records).

Joining Dan will be an all-star cast as well:

Marc Perlman (Jayhawks, Golden Smog), Dave Boquist (Son Volt), JoAnna James, Molly Maher, Martin Devaney, Janey Winterbauer (Astronaut Wife, Basement Apartment, Golden Smog), Andra Suchy (Honeydogs, the Dollys), Stook!, pedal steel maestro John Schjolberg, Jon Duncan (Trailer Trash), Jenny Russ (Holiday Ranch), Jeff Kleinbaum, and, of course, the Cultivators – Dave Russ and Kris Bowring.

There are plenty of tickets left to The Bad Plus tonight and a bad-ass student discount(-10$) as well. Call the box office @ 612.377.2224 or show up before the show starts @ 7:30pm and you should be able to get tickets. As of yesterday the venue was only about half sold (590/1200)
