The Cure Announce Festival Tour With Interpol, Rapture, Mogwai, & more

The Curiosa Festival 2004 will feature the Cure headlining a bill that also includes three bands plainly influenced by Robert Smith and company: Interpol, the Rapture and Mogwai.

A second stage will also be part of the traveling road show, with Muse, Thursday, Cursive, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Cooper Temple Clause, AFI and Head Automatica rotating as performers.

had a great time in Chicago on Mon/Tue.

saw The Frames at The Hideout with some friends, and they totally blew my mind. I’d seen them 3 times prior, but all 3 were short 40-50 minute opening sets, and this was an insane 2:15, complete with 2 Pixies covers & 2 Neil Young covers (one during the opener).

how this band is not totally huge in America is beyond me, but for now, i’ll enjoy the small venues

they’ll hopefully be back to the US later this summer/fall, either before or just after their new record comes out (i’d guess after).
