Motorhead Concert Tour TicketsThe legendary group Motorhead has annouced that they will start a UK tour in late November.  Formed by the Hawkwind band member Lemmy, Motorhead has been cranking out hits since the late 1970’s.  Originally to be called Bastard,  during the late 1970s and early 1980s, Motorhead were at the peak of their form, releasing classic tracks such as Ace Of Spades, Stone Dead Forever and Bomber.

Motorhead can be credited with the invention of the speed metal sub genre of rock from the 1970’s.  Despite numerous personell changes over the years, Motorhead remain a force to be reckoned with live, an inspiration to a generation of thrash and speed metal bands and continue to record and release music (their most recent studio album was 2004’s Inferno).

Ne-Yo Announces ‘Year of the Gentleman’ Tour in 2009

Ne-Yo launched the ‘Year of the Gentleman’ in September last year and has shot up to the No. 2 of the Billboard 200. Ne-Yo has been touring since the launch of the album and has announced his intention to continue his tour in support of the album through early 2009. Currently touring in Europe, his American leg of the tour begins at Las Vegas on Feb 5 hits a total of 15 cities including Los Angeles, CA, New Orleans, LA, New York, NY and Memphis, TN before ending at St. Louis, MO on March 1.

Ne-Yo has been immensely successful in his music career and his recent album ‘Year of the Gentleman’ features a number of hit singles like “Closer,” “Mad” and “Miss Independent”. All these tracks are available on Ne-Yo’s MySpace page. This album, written during Ne-Yo’s European travels, is his attempt at infusing class into the now-sloppy R&B genre.

Formed in 2001 in a suburban Chicago basement, the Fall Out Boy group has managed to achieve worldwide success.  For a group that was formed out of boredom they have really done great things to increase there musical careers.

The band consists of Patrick Stump, playing rhythm guitar, and singing lead vocals, Pete Wentz as bass guitarist, and backing vocals, Joe Trohman, on the lead guitar, and Andy Hurley as drummer and percussionist.

The band, whose music style is described as emo, pop-punk, indie-rock, finally took shape when they met guitarist/vocalist Patrick Stump. They won several awards for their debut album, From Under the Cork Tree. The album achieved double platinum status and sold over 2.5 million albums in the US alone.Their latest album, Infinity on High, released in February 2007, sold 260,000 copies in its first week.

The band was nameless for their first two shows. During their second show, they asked the audience to call out their suggestions for a name. One suggestion was Fallout Boy, Radioactiveman’s sidekick in The Simpsons.

Yes Announces 2009 Tour

Yes, icons of progressive rock, have announced plans to take up a tour in early 2009. The band visits Mexico, Canada and a number of states in the US. The tour begins with a two-night show on Feb 5-6 at Del. Cuauhtemoc, Mexico. It then continues by visiting a number of West Coast and Southern States as well as a stop in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The tour makes stops in US cities like Houston, TX; Denver, CO; Las Vegas, NV; San Diego, CA; Los Angeles, CA and San Francisco, CA. The tour winds up at Friant, CA on March 3. The tour features stand-in vocalist Benoit David who has taken centre stage after the original vocalist Jon Anderson had to stand down due to an acute respiratory failure. The current lineup features bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe and drummer Allan White, from the original lineup of this very successful band.

Brad Paisley announces his Summer and Fall Plans

Country performer Brad Paisley has announced that he will be touring from June to October for his upcoming “American Saturday Night” tour. Paisley is currently touring for another month for his “Paisley Party” tour and then will take off most of March, April and May before gearing up for the Summer and Fall tour.

The “American Saturday Night” tour will have Dierks Bently and Jimmy Wayne as supporting casts and kick off June 5th in Charlotte, North Carolina. As of right now the tour will be making stops 40 or cities but more could be added once we get closer to June.

Metallica Continues Tour in 2009

Legendary heavy metal band Metallica continues their tour in 2009. The trek kicked off on Jan 15 at Washington DC and hits 6 cities while performing a total of 8 shows. Chicago, IL and Newark NJ are the two cities where the band performs two-night acts. The remainder of band’s tour itinerary is listed below.

Metallica is considered one of the most influential heavy metal band of the 80s and have been instrumental in bringing the genre back to popularity. The band members include Ron McGovney, Robert Trujillo, Dave Mustaine, Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield. The band insists that their influences have been some well known and popular bands like Black Sabbath, Diamond Head, The Misfits, Motorhead and Saxon. Whigs Started ‘Mission Control’ Tour In 2009

The Whigs, famous indie-rockers, have launched a tour in 2009 to promote their latest album ‘Mission Control.’ The tour began Jan 15 at Athens, GA and hits 17 cities before winding up on March 14 at St. Louis, MO. It visits cities like East Lansing, MI; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Detroit, MI and Chicago, IL. Their performances include support from the band Drive By Truckers on Jan 15 for the Athens, GA show. All other shows in the month of January are accompanies by the band Kings of Leon. All the shows in March are solo performances by The Whigs.

The recently released album Mission Control has been produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliot Smith, The Vines) and has been released on ATO Records, which also released their previous venture “Give ‘em All a Fat Lip.” The song “Right Hand on My Heart,” from this album is available at the band’s website.

Willie Nelson Continues Tour In 2009

Having toured non stop the last year, country music legend Willie Nelson is continuing his whirlwind tour into 2009 all the way from Jan 9 to March 9. In February, Willie Nelson is accompanied by Wynton Marsalis and Norah Jones for his two shows in New York, NY. For the rest of the month, he is accompanied by Asleep at the Wheel. In March, Willie Nelson performs in Florida at 7 different venues and at North Myrtle Beach, SC; Choctaw, MS; and Marksville, LA. Willie Nelson’s ‘Naked Willie’ is due to be released on March 17. It is a collection of recordings from the 1960s and feature Nelson having a bubble bath on the album cover.

March Madness Begins!

March Madness isn’t just about the NCAA Tournament, there are a ton of great events for March! In sports besides the Mens and Womens NCAA Basketball tournaments there is great Spring Training Baseball plus the World Baseball Classic. Also there is the world famous 2009 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo a.k.a. RodeoHouston takes place March 3-22. This event crosses over to the great concerts as it features some of the top music performers of country and pop including Taylor Swift, The Jonas Brothers and Rascal Flatts.

Also on tour in March are The Eagles, Elton John & Billy Joel, Britney Spears, Nickelback, Phish, Fleetwood Mac and The Allman Brothers Band.
