Yankee Stadium’s final game

The House That Ruth Built, which opened in 1923, will host its final game in 2008

The final regular-season game at Yankee Stadium will be Sept. 21 against Baltimore, and New York is raising prices for its best box seats by $100 to $250.

The Yankees released their 2008 schedule and ticket prices on Monday for the last season in The House That Ruth Built, which opened in 1923.

The team plans to move in 2009 into a new ballpark being built across the street in the Bronx.

Ike Turner 11/05/1931 - 12/12/2007

Ike Turner, the blues, soul, funk, and rock and roll musician died on December 12th at the age of 76 in his home in San Marcos, California. It is rumored that he had struggled with emphysema for years. Ike Turner was also a bandleader, talent scout, and record producer. He was perhaps most well known for his career with his then wife, Tina Turner. In 1991, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and then in 2001, he was inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame. His website has posted that there will be a public viewing for his fans on December 20th in Los Angeles.

Angels and AirwavesAngels and Airwaves have announced a string of UK dates next April. The supergroup formed by Blink 182’s former frontman, Tom DeLonge.

They’ll play four dates around the country during a week long stay in the UK. Tickets are on sale tomorrow morning, Wednesday 19th December at 9am.
