The mother of famed rapper Kanye West passes away in Los Angeles on Saturday. Donda West was a chairwoman for the University of Chicago’s English Department and she worked in education for 31 years before leaving to manage her son’s career. She wrote and published the book “Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip Hop Star” and she was often seen with her son at numerous award shows. Although her cause of death has not been released, and the family has yet to comment, one radio station has reported that it is rumored that she died from complications of surgery.
