Athlete / Secret Gig / 5 July

AthleteAthlete have announced that they will be playing a “secret” low key gig in South East London next Thursday, 5th July. Apparently the venue is easily accessibly by bus, DLR and British Rail. Full details of the location of the gig will be sent out with the tickets a few days before the event.

200 tickets will be available from their official website at 9am tomorrow (Tuesday 26th June).

Smashing Pumpkins

Revived alt-rockers Smashing Pumpkins lauched World tour this May in support of their upcoming album. Now the band is giving a series of concerts in Asheville (NC), which will be finished July 5. Further Smashing Pumpkins North American tour plans include eight shows in San Francisco (CA), performance at Live Earth in East Rutherford (NJ), and appearance on several festivals in August, and September 2007. Tour details are below; tickets can be booked online. Band’s upcoming album Zeitgeist is scheduled to release July 10. Current Smashing Pumpkins’ lineup is Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, Jeff Schroeder, and Ginger Reyes.

The Subdudes Long Tour Begun

Rock band from New Orleans The Subdudes lauched a long US tour in support of their upcoming album. Current tour itinerary lists about 50 dates up to April 2008. The Subdudes will give concerts in Chicago (IL), Denver (CO), Boulder (CO), Nashville (TN), Indianapolis (IN), Houston (TX), Philadelphia (PA), New York (NY), and a lot of other cities. Forthcoming outfit’s album is set to hit stores this August. Previous band’s studio work Behind the Levee was released in 2006. Current The Subdudes lineup is Tim Cook (bass and vocals) Tommy Malone (vocals, acoustic, electric, and slide guitars), John Magnie (vocals, accordion, keyboards), Jimmy Messa (bass, and guitar), and Steve Amede’e (tambourine, drums, other percussions, and vocals).

Country Pop outfit from Texas, Rascal Flatts announced first leg of US 2007 tour. The jaunt called “Still Feels Good Tour” kicks off July 13 in Uncasville (CT), and winds through US up to the middle of September. Rascal Flatts will play in Cleveland (OH), Dallas (TX), Indianapolis (IN), Columbus (OH), Pittsburgh (PA), Los Angeles (CA), and in many other cities. Jason Aldean announced as opening act of the concerts. Latest Rascal Flatts studio work Me and My Gang has been released last year, and already sold more than 4 million copies. The disk spawned hit singles “Stand,” “My Wish,” and “What Hurts the Most.” New trio’s album is scheduled to release on September 25. Rascal Flatts are Gary LeVox (lead vocals), Jay DeMarcus (harmony vocals, bass guitar), and Joe Don Rooney (harmony vocals, electric guitar, steel guitar, mandolin).

White Light Riot CD Release Party

One of the Twin Cities best rock bands released their debut full length record ‘Atomism‘ on 50 Entertainment this past Tuesday and are celebrating the release of the album with a CD Release show tomorrow (Saturday 6/23) at the Fine Line at 8pm (Doors).

Opening the show will be up and coming younsgters, the Villians of Verona from Chicago, and another of the Twin Cities best bands, The Alarmists, who will release their own fantastic debut full length, ‘The Ghost and the Hired Gun‘, next month and will celebrate with a CD Release Party (which WLR will return the favor and open their show) on July 20th @ First Avenue.

Tickets to the show are $9.50 in Advance and $11.50 at the door. Be sure to head down a bit early though as this show will most likely sell out.

During her 40-year carrier Liza released more than 30 albums, and acted in 24 movies according to Wikipedia. In 1990 Minnelli received Grammy Legend Award.
