Kenny Chesney

I think Kenny Chesney is turning into this generation’s Jimmy Buffett. Although Chesney is a country artist, his songs are about real people having good times. He often reflects back on his high school and college years, as well as singing about love, life, heartache, family, and small hometowns. I see his Buffett-like quality in what I call his “beach” songs. Although he has quite a few in his repertoire about beaches, he also has songs about drinking and having a good time. It’s the type of music you listen to when you’re driving to the beach, and the type of music you want to hear when you’re on the beach, hence “beach” music. Since “parrothead” is already taken, what do you think Kenny’s followers should be called? Palmheads might work. Well, get your tickets to see Kenny perform live and make the decision for yourself.
