Electropunks MSTRKRFT are teaming up with dance music icon John Digweed for the first ever Diamonds 07 Tour. The first in what will become an annual event, will be presented by MTV Urge and Puma. Throughout the month of March, these two dance floor forces will be hitting up clubs all over the US, bringing to the masses their distinct DJ styles: Digweed, with his beautiful tech-inspired sets, and MSTRKRFT, with their fresh electro punk anthems.

The pairing was conceived by MSTRKRFT in order to bring something new to the club circuit: “We’re very excited about the first ever Diamonds Tour and are honored to have John Digweed headline. We think it’s the type of lineup fans have been searching for,” says MSTRKRFT’s Jesse Keeler.

Will it be more hip-hop or more pop? Who cares, whatever it ends up being I’m sure it will be very tight. He’s ditching the “sampler sound” and playing with live instruments this time. Pitchfork posted a track today from his new record, The Third Hand. Get It? Got It.

Welcome Digital Paul!

Source: morecowbell.net

I’d like to take a minute to introduce the newest contributor to More Cowbell, Paul Hirte. Paul has been a huge supporter of local music as long as i’ve known him, and a very cool guy to boot.

Paul brings his great knowledge of the local scene to the site, and will be in charge of our Concert Calendar. Which if you check it out, he has been kicking ass finally getting us back up to date.

Speaking of the Concert Calendar, i want to point out a few features.

First off, you’ll notice the listing of “This Week’s Shows” on the right-hand side, which always includes the current day and next 6 days. If you click on the RSS Feed icon to the right of it’s title as well, you can subscribe to a seperate feed that displays shows during the current week.

Second, the Concert Calendar to the right, any day that shows up in blue means there are shows that day. If you hover over that day, you will get a popup tooltip of the shows for the day. And probably the best way to keep up to date whenever ANY new show is added to our calendar, is to subscribe to the RSS Feed icon to the right of the Concert Calendar title.

And lastly, and one of my favorite and most useful features, you can subscribe to our Concert Calendar via iCal, Windows Calendar (on the upcoming Vista OS), Google Calendar or basically ANY program that supports the iCal standard, by clicking on this icon in the calendar.
