My Morning Jacket Photos (short review)
Source: morecowbell.net
Here are a few photos from My Morning Jacket last Monday, November 27, 2006, the rest can be found here.
I was able to catch MMJ earlier this year as they opened for Pearl Jam, and of course, the 35 minutes or so that they played did not allow their organic style the time it needs to bloom (the normal gestation period is at least 1 hour 15 minutes for organic music according to the National Academy of Rocking Tunes).
MMJ played all of the great rockers, as well as several slow songs. Jim James made several repeated trips to the absolute front of the stage, much to the excitement of those of us towards the front of the crowd. The mood of the crowd in my area of the club was infectious with excitement and the band seemed to feed off of it. And of course, Jim James’ KISS boots, were very amusing. There were a few technical problems around the middle of the show, but they all played it off really well, and it wasn’t a big deal. It was a great time and I can’t wait to see these guys again.
