Tamar with Special Guest Prince

Source: morecowbell.net

After storming the stage in LA, San Francisco, New York City, and Saturday Night Live, Támar brings her electric perfomance to the Twin Cities, Chicago and Philadelphia with special guest PRINCE! Minneapolis Saturday, February 25th The Orpheum Theater Chicago Monday, February 27th The Congress Theater Philadelphia Wednesday, March 1st Club Electric Factory Tickets for the Minneapolis show are $53.50 and go onsale tomorrow at Noon.

It should be noted that this is a Tamar show first and foremost (as the previous shows around the US have been), not a full Prince show, but he’s played some really nice sets at the other shows along this tour. That said, it’s speculated that Wendy & Lisa, along w/ Sheila E. will be in attendance at these shows as far as i’ve heard.

***More Artists To Be Announced! ***

House of Blues Concerts is proud to present this year’s Sasquatch! Music Festival with an expanded; power-packed lineup. The Sasquatch! Music Festival in its fifth and best year yet will take place Memorial Day Weekend. Already the official opener to summer for music fans, The Sasquatch! Music Festival is becoming a certified monster of a musical event: this year features a bigger band line-up, more sought-after artists, and more days of rock than ever before. The festival has evolved its unique laid-back, homegrown, regionally known, camp-out, chill out and rock out style into a full blown three day rock n roll extravaganza, complete with camp-outs, canyons, sunsets and three stages. This year’s kick-off to the summer tour season features over 40 bands — all set against the landscape of the majestic and magnificent natural wonder and grandeur of the Gorge Amphitheatre along the canyons of the Columbia River in Washington State.

The line-up for this year’s Sasquatch! Music Festival is not only impressive, but also diverse, covering highly regarded chart-toppers as well as up and coming stars of the future. With Nine Inch Nails (Friday May 26) Ben Harper (Saturday, May 27) and Beck, Death Cab For Cutie, Queens of the Stone Age, (Sunday May 28); the caliber of bands is history in the making. Near 40 bands strong, other artists confirmed for the weekend include Iron and Wine, The Decemberists, Neko Case, The Tragically Hip, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Flaming Lips and The Shins among many others. Sasquatch! is Sufjan Stevens only scheduled festival performance of the summer. (The complete line-up as of 2/21 is listed below)

From critical to college favorites, the line-up is as diverse as it is phenomenal as is the feel and flavor of the festival. Since its inception in 2001, the goal of the festival has been to provide a place that’s plentiful with diversity, originality and creativity. Innovation and artists integrity are key and steadfast. Rules and hard-nose regulations are not. The Sasquatch! Music Festival is an event where the patrons are treated with an uncommon level of respect. The attendees are treated like one big family. There are no boundaries just a common celebratory love of music, and a sense of excitement coupled with the grandeur of the great outdoors, setting a prevailing tone of inherent tranquility and camaraderie.

The Gorge, the glorious natural backdrop and amphitheatre is a hugely popular vacation destination for thousands. It is the 9-time winner of Pollstar Magazine’s Award for North America’s Best Outdoor Music Venue. Coldplay’s powerful closing performance (Sasquatch! 2003) was a personal triumph for singer, pianist and guitarist Chris Martin, who savored the moment as one of the highlights of his career and extolled The Gorge as “the most amazing place we’ve seen.

The Sasquatch! Music Festival started out as a one day event that highlighted Pacific Northwest performers. While the loyalty to strengthening the Northwest music scene remains in tact, with the third stage dedicated exclusively to supporting the northwest independent music community, the magnitude has grown as the word has spread. The Sasquatch! Music Festival is surely and steadily becoming part of the national consciousness with a dedicated and important group of music enthusiasts attending year after year after year. Because of the multi-faceted pleasures and treasures consistently discovered at the festival, it has organically grown and it keeps getting bigger. The Sasquatch! Music Festival is not just 3 days of fun. It is an annual Memorial Day event that will provide personal memories and musical discoveries for years and years to come.

The festival ups its own ante every year. The self-imposed goal for greatness has worked. To date, some of the Sasquatch! Music Festival distinguished alumni include: Kanye West, Coldplay, The Pixies, Jack Johnson, The Postal Service, Wilco, Modest Mouse, The Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, The Roots, Built To Spill, Sleater-Kinney, Jurassic 5, The New Pornographers, Thievery Corporation, Cat Power, David Cross, Damien Rice.

Tickets are $55.00 per day (plus applicable service charges) and go on sale on Saturday, March 4 at 11 a.m. and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or hob.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, or charge by phone in Seattle (206) 628-0888, in Oregon (503) 224-4400, and in Eastern Washington (509) 735-0500.

Camping is available for all 3 nights and reservations can be made when purchasing tickets via Ticketmaster. For more details, directions and further information on camping at The Gorge Amphitheatre go to www.sasquatchfestival.com
